Traumatica Dramatica
Almost a year ago I visited Untitled Space with no prior knowledge on the wonderland I would walk into. Beholden to Meg Lionel Murphy’s masterful works by way of gouache I was awestruck. The small space packed a large message that unbeknownst to me would transform my mindset dramatically. The way she contrasted dark subject matter with bright blooming subjects, illuminated the scary reality of navigating the world in a femme body. We as of late, have no choice but to confront the war on human rights and body autonomy, as this patriarchal society is adamant on reinforcing its outdated principles. The works of Murphy perfectly paint the pain it is to be apart of this society that chooses to ignore the will and desires of its own .
Interference
We all contribute to life’s screenplay that the universe urgently types out in real-time. We are all part of life’s cast as either the main character or the supporting role. Interference allows us to see how our small contributions by merely existing help the show along and enrich the experience of all involved, as we are players and observers of this show simultaneously.
